What Is Invisalign?

Visible braces can be a constant cause of embarrassment for the wearer. Fortunately, this embarrassment can be easily eliminated with the help of the most modern dental realignment solution called Invisalign.

Invisalign is a system that consists of a set of completely invisible, clear aligner trays designed using the most advanced 3D design technology. The trays are created after a special scanning that creates an accurate image of the patient’s jaw and head. The images are used not only for crafting the first mold, but also for predicting the direction in which the patient’s teeth are going to move and for the crafting of the other trays in the set. The patient wears each tray for a predefined period, usually around 2 weeks, after which the tray is replaced with the next one in the set. The process is repeated until the patient’s teeth reach the shape and the position predicted during the initial scan.
To achieve the best results, Invisalign should be worn for a minimum of 20 hours per day. In most cases, the first visible results can be achieved within 2-3 months, but the complete treatment might take much longer than that, in very severe cases of misalignment even longer than a year.
